Golf is a sport revered around the world by young and old alike. Apart from golfers themselves, many sports personalities tend to veer towards golf as a recreational activity. While many enjoy the game as a past time, a small section happens to dislike the sport for various reasons. That list has a new member – UFC President, Dana White.

Confirmed, Dana White has absolutely zero interest in golf

The 53-year-old businessman has become a household name due to his hugely popular venture in the UFC. But while White knows a thing or two on how to make money out of sports, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll turn to golf, thanks to his despise for the game.

The hate was revealed in a media exchange, where White was asked about his problems with golf. “Just not my thing,” he exclaimed, before proceeding to express everything he loathed about the sport.

“I hate it… think it’s boring. I wouldn’t wanna go walk around a f**king golf course all day and f**king hit a ball into a hole. It’s just not my thing,” he rambled.

However, White was aware of golf’s popularity across the world and respected it. “But millions of people love it. So you know what I do? I don’t watch it. I don’t play it. And I don’t pay attention to it,” he claimed.

Ironically, White also revealed that despite his detest towards the sport, he wasn’t among the game’s naysayers. “I don’t walk around f**king telling people you shouldn’t be f**king doing this. It sucks,” he said.

Does golf need a revisit following White’s accusations?

The age-old sport has been dubbed by many as an old man’s game. However, golf has seen many takers from grass-root levels, with several academies in the country teaching young boys and girls the primary know-hows of the sport.

But the demand for golf has been dwindling over the years. The recent report of the UK’s national broadcaster, BBC, refusing to air PGA Tour highlights for free because of demographic concerns, sets a grave example.

Similarly, the difficulties faced by the lucrative LIV Golf Series in finding a broadcaster for the entirety of its opening season were heavily criticized, but seldom thought upon. Does golf need a reflection of its standing in this era’s world of sports? Lets us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
