Michael Jordan is a legendary basketball player. He lives in people’s hearts and is known for many things. Not just basketball, he is a brand owner and a shoe developer. He sometimes tries his hand at Golf too and is known to be an amateur golfer. But there is an infamous habit of Jordan has that is not very tasteful…he is an avid golf gambler too.

Pro basketball player, Michael Jordan’s love for Golf is not limited to playing. It has reached into his pockets with its many infamous stories. Jordan used to play a lot with Charles Barkley. They were great competitors on course and great partners, too. Whenever they played together, Jordan was always playing for more money than Barkley. Not just some small amount, we are talking as much as hundreds of thousands of dollars. He once put $300,000 for a hole!

Jordan’s old golf partner, Barkley had something to share at the show. He said while they used to play together, Barkley would put a few hundred dollars on each hole, but Jordan’s commitment was on a different level.

He said, “Back when I would play, it was pretty much even [between me and MJ],” he said. “But I tell you what, and I apologize to Michael for saying this… we’d be playing golf with certain people, and we’d be playing a couple of hundred dollars a hole. But he’d be playing some for guy for $100,000.”

Jordan’s love for gambling with golf was not hidden from anybody. Everyone knew about it and everyone had their own views. But in the year 1993, they deeply criticized Jordan about his gambling habits.

Richard Esquinas published the book titled “Michael & Me: Our Gambling Addiction…My Cry For Help!In the book, he alleged ‌Jordan was in golf gambling debt of more than $1.2 million. Apparently, the sum was disputed by Jordan and never paid fully. Esquinas and Jordan later settled the amount to $300,000 and Esquinas received partial payment.

Michael Jordan is great, but he has a love for golf and gambling associated with it. The proof is that once, while playing with Roenick, who is an avid golf player, he beat Jordan of some thousand dollars. It was 1992, and he beat Jordan on their first 18 holes of the day and he was sad by the loss.
