Despite the absence of two of their key players, England will still field a competitive team. Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Bronte Law will join substitutes Alice Hewson and Liz Young to represent their country in San Francisco’s TPC Harding Park.

Georgia released the statement, “I’ve been struggling with my foot for past few weeks and inspite of daily physio treatment it’s not improving, so I’ve been advised to take a week off.” And Charlie said, “I’ve been quite sick the past couple of weeks with stomach issues. I was hoping I could play through it but it seems not and I’m going to need to seek some help.”

Hewson and Young may not be as well-known as Hull and Hall, but they have both had success on the Ladies European Tour. Hewson has had an impressive season so far with five top-20 finishes, including a share of second place at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open. Meanwhile, Young won her first LET title last year in her 14th season on the tour, shortly before turning 40.

Despite fielding a competitive team, England’s mentality and ability will be put to the test.
