Following the weather-delayed PGA Tour Pro-am at Pebble Beach last week, the Tour heads over to Arizona for its next event. The WM Phoenix begins on Thursday this week, and its pro-am has yet another surprise for its fans. Former NFL star JJ Watt is on the field. And ahead of the game, he has a warning for the entire golf world.

Watt retired from the NFL in December of last year. And the footballer has since taken to religiously practicing golf. He even invited the recently retired NFL legend, Tom Brady, to join him. It seems like the Arizona Cardinals’ former defensive end is now putting his golf skills to the test.

Taking to Twitter yesterday, the golf pro announced in a video that he would be on the course at the pro-am of the WM Phoenix Open this week. But that’s not all the former defensive end had to say. “I am not a good golfer,” he claimed in the video. “I just want to put this out there to let anybody coming to the tournament know: Please watch your head.”

The retired NFL star hilariously went on to caution the crowd. He advised them to have fun and go wild, but at the same time to be careful of him. “Just please watch out,” he said. “I have no clue where the ball is going; I’m trying to put it in the fairway; it’s not going to go there.”

His tip for the audience at the event was to keep their heads on a “swivel” and watch out for his stray shots. Furthermore, the NFL star promised them signed golf balls if he hit them too. So, Watt may just have people hoping that he misses his mark and gets them instead.

Golf World wishes JJ Watt some luck

Unsurprisingly, his funny video of caution went viral within minutes. The fans went wild upon seeing it. They flooded it with comments, wishing him luck.

Some fans even thanked him for his warning update. One wrote, “I’ll duck and cover.”

Fans were also sad that they would not be there to watch him play on the PGA Tour.
