Taking to Titter, the PGA Tour pro recounted an incident from when he attended an event in Australia where Scott was the speaker. A woman seated next to Chalmers instantly began ogling Scott as soon as he stepped onto the stage. The 49-year-old stated that she exclaimed, “OMG, I had no idea golfers were so sexy,” sending jealousy surging through Chalmers.

He was “offended” that he wasn’t the one noticed despite sitting right next to her! Of course, he meant no malice to Scott when he hilariously wrote about the incident online. Perhaps he just wanted the golf world to know what an eye-catcher they had with the 2013 Masters winner!

The tale is just one of many heartwarming friendship stories the two share, and boy are there many, some that even go back nearly 2 decades!

Chalmers and Scott’s friendship over the years

In the early 2000s, Scott was just beginning to establish himself in the world of professional golf. He looked to Chalmers for guidance and support during this time. When the 42-year-old won the Deutsche Bank Championship, his first win on the PGA Tour, in 2003, Chalmers was one of the first people he thanked in his victory speech.

Over the years, their friendship grew, and during Scott’s formative years on the PGA Tour, the 49-year-old caddied for him and gave him advice and encouragement. The two even faced off against each other on the course once in a playoff at the Australian Open in 2014. Eight holes of intense competition between the two friends ended with Chalmers winning his second Australian PGA championship.

Today, both still compete on the PGA Tour, and their bond is as strong as ever. In the realm of professional athletics, their journey is a tribute to the strength of friendship and mentoring.
