As the Wyndham Championship draws to a close, one of golf’s longest-serving individuals will get ready to hang up his boots. Sir Nick Faldo has enjoyed a storied career, both as a professional golf player and a successful TV commentator.

To honour his services, the Triple Bogey Golf Club, a Twitter account, made a humorous video on Faldo’s moments throughout his broadcasting career. And it’s fair to say that the video made Faldo chuckle too.

Having been in front of the camera for a good part of 26 years at CBS, Faldo has had his funny moments. Be it his Tom Cruise-inspired sprint on the course, to getting absolutely drenched in the ice bucket challenge a few years ago, the former World No. 1 has seen (and experienced) it all. The aforementioned Twitter page compiled all those moments to create a funny yet nostalgic tribute to the departing broadcaster.

Indeed, the 6-time Major Championship winner couldn’t hold back.

Why is Nick Faldo retiring?

Citing fatigue, Faldo said the demands of a full-time broadcasting schedule wore him down. Faldo made his playing debut back in 1976. Since he initiated his broadcasting career before retiring from his playing one, Faldo never ceased to be associated with the sport. This led to a hectic schedule for the majority of the last four decades, and at 65 years old, the 3-time Open Championship winner called it quits.

How did Nick Faldo fare in his playing career?

A former World No. 1, Nick Faldo’s broadcasting exploits overshadow his incredible playing career. He won 41 professional tournaments, which include 30 European Tour victories. He has won the Open Championship and the Masters Tournament thrice. His biggest moment arrived in 2008 when he was elected as the captain of Team Europe in the year’s Ryder Cup. However, the event turned out to be a miserable one for him as Team USA won 16½–11½. It was their biggest margin of victory since 1981, and in the process, ended Team Europe’s streak of three successive Ryder Cup victories.
