The recent PGA announcements

Last month, PGA Tour Commissioner, Jay Monahan, announced the “enhancements” that PGA Tour members would get. Their motto is to bring top players together more often. The PGA Tour is making four new changes in the spirit of competition with the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league. Along with formal events, the players must compete in at least 20 PGA TOUR events yearly.

There will also be an expansion of the Player Impact Program and guaranteed league-minimum earnings for the PGA Tour members. Because of the elevation of events, there will be 12 events next season. Top players have committed to play all 12 events. Not just these, they’ll be playing four majors and THE PLAYERS Championship and add three PGA Tour events according to their schedule.

What Paige Spiranac thinks about the recent developments

After the announcement, Paige Spiranac had her take on the situation. She said that the PGA Tour is upping its game to compete with LIV Golf, and now all the players from both tours are getting paid handsomely. When Phil Mickelson joined LIV Golf, he was surrounded by so much hate. He left the PGA tour for his family, knowing he wanted to get paid more.

She appreciated Phil for taking the proper steps and standing up to it. Paige said it must have been hard for Phil to go through all the hate and come out of it. She spoke about Phil, “But he knew that he wanted to get paid more, and he kind of initiated this with Greg Norman to get this going. He brought all the players over, and now guys on tour are getting paid a lot of money, and guys on the PGA tour are now getting paid a lot more money.”

Spiranac alleges Woods copied LIV golf

She also added that, in the end, Mickelson was proved right. As Phil once said, every player benefits, be it from the PGA Tour or LIV Golf. Now that Phil was right, Spiranac thinks he can be smug about it, which is annoying. She also talked about how Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have joined hands and copied LIV Golf. She said, “They basically have copied the LIV blueprint.”
