However, the road to glory was not all sunshine and roses.

The golfer took to a podcast a while back to talk about his record-breaking 12-under 60 at the Pebble Beach Golf Links on Saturday. While doing so, he went ahead to dub the whole experience as “amazing” and “nice,” all the while recounting the struggles he had leading to the signature event!

“I’ve been working really hard on it,” said an excited Clark to Mark Zecchino on an episode of the SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio podcast, while alluding to the struggles he faced with his putting on the greens. “Putting’s been a struggle the last 6-7 months,” continued the 30-year-old before going ahead to express disbelief at how he was able to pull off the feat despite eagerly “waiting for the day that I(sic) have the floodgates open.”

Adding on, he divulged how “the holes seem so big” while playing on the course while dubbing the greens at Pebble Beach Golf Links as a difficult place to make puts on. Nevertheless, it all panned out well at the end of the day, as the 2023 U.S. Open champ admitted, “Honestly, it was an amazing day… It was nice to finally have a great day on the greens,” owing to the fact that he wasn’t able to make putts in the previous events leading up to the same.
