Life isn’t a bed of roses for a professional on the LPGA Tour. The men’s circuit is much more celebrated than the realm of women’s golf, not to mention the money it offers to its golfers. But even so, the sport is undergoing massive changes as can be seen from the upcoming event, the Grant Thornton Invitational, co-sanctioned by both the golfing bodies.

Whilst the teams, including both women and men, fight for glory and a cut of the equal $4 million prize purse, one shouldn’t let go of the bigger picture. And, that is exactly what the LPGA Covergirl Nelly Korda has emphasized, all the while dubbing the upcoming tournament as a “great step for our future!”

In the press conference, the 1X major champ was asked what the event could mean for the LPGA Tour with the field and the money associated with it. Responding to the question, the pro was all praise for it as she said, “I think every year our tour is making strides forward with increasing prize money” while pointing out how there are “better players out there.” Moreover, the golfer also expressed her belief in the professionals of the women’s circuit as she guaranteed their performance if they were given the proper “platform.”
