‘Tiger Thinks He Started That’: PGA Tour Veteran Reveals the Origins Behind His Funny Nickname

The American professional golfer Stewart Cink’s nickname is Kitchen? Since Tiger Woods mentioned it first to the public after the 2022 Masters, everybody thought that he had coined the name. However, is that a true story?

“Well, it’s been something that people have called me ever since I was little,” said Cink. The golfer explained in an interview how he got his nickname ‘Kitchen’ in the first place.

“Tiger thinks he started that,” Cink articulated his words when he said it. “But he did not started that.”

“There was a guy named Tim Kitchens, who I played in couple partner events with up there,” Cink explained how he actually got the name. “And everybody just thought that was the funniest thing that Kitchens and Cink were playing together.”

The golfer explained that he got the nickname when he was just a teenager. Although Woods and others have been calling him that name forever now, Cink assured that Tiger didn’t give him the nickname ‘Kitchens.’

Although Cink turned pro a year before Woods, both golfers joined the PGA Tour in the same year. Stewart was one of the few to shine in the golf world in early 2000 apart from Woods. He has won a total of 8 PGA Tour events.

Moreover, he had won the MCI Classic in 2000, the same year Woods 9 championships, including three majors and a WGC. Notably, Cink and Woods have been teammates of Team USA for the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup multiples times.

Furthermore, Cink made a hole-in-one at the Masters this year, making him the 33rd golfer to achieve the feat. Interestingly, his son, who was caddying for him at the Masters, had his birthday on the same day.

Woods scored an overall of 13-over par at the Masters this year. He finished at the tournament by securing the 47th position. Moreover, The golfer has never missed the cut at the Augusta National since he turned pro.

The 2022 Masters is considered the worst performance in his history of playing at the Augusta. However, Woods had finished playing all four rounds. It was his first time playing at an official tournament since his accident last year. Therefore, the golfer considers just showing up at an event like this a victory
