The second day of the 2023 WM Phoenix Open had a disappointing ending, with the Tour officials forced to suspend the game due to darkness. However, that doesn’t mean it lacked entertainment in any way. Popularly known as the People’s Open, the event provided extreme fun for the fans at the cost of a streaker.
A streaker, with only his briefs on, broke into the famous 16th hole of the TPC Scottsdale in the middle of the tournament.

As one can spot in the videos spreading all over social media, his antics, including swimming in the pond, dancing with the flagstick, and “playing tag” with the event marshalls, gave a huge reason for the audience to laugh. However, it doesn’t seem that he wouldn’t have the same feeling at the end of the day.
What is the future of the 2023 WM Phoenix Open streaker?
Unfortunately, the 2023 WM Phoenix Open is not the first time a streaker has made his way to a golf tournament and create a fuss for the event officials. As many would know, John Daly, who has a bad boy image in golf, was left in trauma after a streaker barged in following his win at the 1995 Open Championship.

In fact, this is not even the first time a streaker caused a scene at the WM Phoenix Open. According to arizonasports.com, after breaking onto the 17th hole in 2018, the person ended up break dancing and playing in the sand and air golf. Eventually, the security was able to catch him in time, and the way he was punished, the joker of the 2023 Phoenix Open would have a dark future.
Arizona Sports reported that according to the 2018 streaker’s statement to AZ Family, he had to spend five days in jail. Moreover, he had to pay $1,500 in fines. As if those were not enough, the streaker also lost his job.
Fans’ reaction to the streaker at the People’s Open
The streaker may have darker days ahead of him. But it didn’t restrict him from enjoying and causing trouble at the TPC Scottsdale.
The audience at the Phoenix-based course enjoyed the antics of the intruder as they were seen reciprocating with a loud cheer. Additionally, the netizens also seemed to enjoy the act as they shared the video online and bombarded them with funny comments.
Finally some excitement at a boring golf tournament.
