A couple of days ago, Eric Daugherty revealed “🚨 BREAKING: President Trump will award CHARLIE KIRK the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously on what would’ve been his 32nd birthday – Oct. 14, next week, per CNN. This is going to be historic. It’s well-deserved. 🇺🇸🙏,” confirming that the late Charlie Kirk’s family was set to receive the medal from President Donald Trump. And in response, Mickelson wrote, “His presence and message will live forever but I still wish he was here. This award is well deserved 👏👏.”

Phil Mickelson has continued to express his grief over Charlie Kirk’s passing. While the LIV Golf professional supported the decision to honor the late activist, he made it clear that he would have preferred to see Kirk alive to receive the recognition himself. Mickelson has maintained his public support for Kirk’s family and previously condemned online criticism directed at the conservative commentator. His reaction to the news of Kirk’s posthumous Presidential Medal, therefore, came as little surprise.

In the days following Kirk’s passing, Mickelson has continued to speak out, offering reflections on the loss and on the reactions that have unfolded since.
