Over the years, Cody “Beef” Franke had been one of the most popular figures in the golf community. His wisdom, knowledge, and graciousness had turned him into an extremely lovable figure in the sport. He taught the fans many amazing golf lessons, had many intriguing takes on the game, and was always there to talk about golf. That’s what earned him so many fans. However, the video he posted on his Instagram 5 days ago will be his last golf lesson for everyone. Unfortunately, Beef has passed away.

As Fore Play tweeted, “We are beyond devastated to announce that our good friend and cherished Barstool Sports colleague, Cody “Beef” Franke, passed away from a sudden medical issue over the weekend.” He was only 31 years old at the time of his passing. Apart from the tweet, they also wrote an eulogy, expressing how heartbroken they were about Franke’s passing.
The note read, “Cody truly loved the game of golf. He was selflessly spent much of his helping others improve and enjoy the game. Watching golf bring people happiness brought him happiness, and that infectious personality was felt by everyone who met him. He was universally known as the nicest guy in the world. From his time as a PGA professional to his time at Barstool Sports, Cody made so many people laugh, he made so many people smile, and he simply made so many people better.”

“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Cody’s entire family and loved ones. We’ll be removing our hats for Cody today and every day. Rest in peace to the classiest man we knew.” It’s unclear how he passed away, but Fore Play specified that it was a sudden medical issue. He may have encountered a health emergency, and the team wouldn’t have been able to reach him on time, but nothing as such has been revealed yet.

The golf community is left heartbroken with Cody ‘Beef’ Franke’s passing
Everyone was shocked to learn about the news of Cody ‘Beef’ Franke’s passing. Close associate and fellow golf enthusiast, Dan Rapaport, said, “Beyond horrible. Lit up a room with his kindness. RIP ❤️.” Franke certainly had the ability to bring joy to everyone wherever he went. His amazing golf content reflected that. At one point, both of them worked for Barstool together and had also collaborated a few times.
NUCLR GOLF also dropped in to say, “RIP Beef. The golf world lost a legend today. 🙏” Within the golf content creation space, Franke had certainly built a legendary reputation for himself. He had a dedicated fan following for his coaching and guidance, and usually received a lot of love and appreciation for his efforts.

Claire Rogers wrote, “Thinking of you guys ❤️,” as she, too, was left heartbroken after hearing the news. So was Smylie Kaufman as he also shared his prayers with “🙏 🙏.” Both of them would have had the opportunity to work with Cody in the past, considering that they have crossed paths being fellow analysts.
Even the PGA Tour’s official account commented on the sad update, saying, “Beef was an incredible member of the golf community. Our thoughts are with his family and friends ❤️.” Considering his contribution to golf, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the PGA Tour also saw Cody ‘Beef’ Franke as a valuable part of the community.
