Xander Schauffele didn’t have the best time at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Coming back from a 2 month break due to injury, fans were hoping to see more of Schauffele. Unfortunately, he couldn’t deliver to his caliber and managed to finish at T40. After terrible first and third round performances, the world no. 3 ended with a 4-over 292 to conclude the tournament. And that closed his chapter in the Signature event.

However, the 2x major winner had more positives to take from the tournament than many might believe. He spoke to PGA Tour writer, Paul Hodowanic after completing his fourth round a few minutes ago. During the conversation Schauffele stated, “That was the biggest thing. That’s probably the biggest win of the week,” as per Hodowanic’s tweet. The Californian also said “Not being able to play enough golf coming in here, was rolling the dice a little bit. All scans were clean, but super happy with how I feel. Definitely with the added golf didn’t feel any strain or any worse, so that’s a big bonus.” It seems that Xander Schauffele is just happy to be fit at the present. His way up to the top is still a few tournaments away.

Speaking of the upcoming tournaments, the journalist also added “Schauffele will play THE PLAYERS and assess after that. He hopes to play one of Valspar or Valero for some extra Masters prep.” It seems that fans might see Schauffele play a few more times before he visits Augusta National. If he does, then it won’t be the first time he has played in either of the tournaments.

Moreover, the 2025 Valspar Championship is also scheduled around Xander Schauffele’s TGL commitments. Two days prior to the Florida event, Schauffele’s The Bay GC will compete in the Semifinals of TGL against Atlanta Drive GC. Additionally, a day after the Valspar Championship, he will also play in the finals of TGL if his team wins the semis. That means he will need to play 6 consecutive days of golf after already committing two weeks to the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship. This schedule seems too hectic to make possible.

Lastly, playing in the 2025 Valero Texas Open a week before the first major will ensure that Schauffele is better prepared for the Masters Tournament. Hence, it won’t come as a surprise if Xander Schauffele ends up skipping the 2025 Valspar Championship in favor of the Valero Texas Open.
