On Sunday last week, Westwood left Australia and headed home after three under-par rounds to tie for 36th place at LIV’s Adelaide event. And only a day after he bagged $147,500 for his finish, he had a huge milestone to celebrate. On Monday, April 24, the Englishman turned 50 years old!

Undoubtedly, no expenses were spared with the pro’s half-century celebration! He was joined by the likes of his wife, Helen Storey, now Helen Westwood, and his LIV colleagues and Majestic GC teammates, Ian Pouter and Henrik Stenson.

Amid his “half century” celebrations, Westwood took to Twitter and Instagram to thank all his friends and fans. “Thank you for all the birthday messages,” he wrote, posting a photo of him with his wife, Poulter, and Stenson, all smiling ear to ear! “Officially hit the half century.”

Golf world showers Westwood with birthday wishes

The fans loved Westwood’s celebration with his teammates and family! Within minutes of his posts, they flooded the comments section congratulating him on his 5-decade achievement and wishing him a happy birthday. “Happy Birthday Lee! Great to see you playing in Adelaide. I hope Forest stay up for you,” wrote one fan on Instagram. “You look….. Majestic….. for 50,” commented another with a witty pun.

Fans weren’t the only ones diving in with their wishes. Famous soccer celebrities and golf greats also chipped in. “Happy Birthday,” commented the likes of Jordan Henderson, John Terry, and Luis Figo on his post. Poulter too shared a story wishing him and wrote, “Happy birthday mate… 50 is the new 30.”

Many fans even appreciated him sharing his big moment with the Majestics, and taking to Twitter and Instagram, they sang praises of the team. “Best European golfers in one picture!” wrote one fan.
