US presidents have been connected to golf for years. Naturally, some tend to be more invested in the game than others. Donald Trump, the 45th US President, has always been known for his love of golf.

Recently, Trump made an appearance on the Full Send Podcast. While they did discuss various topics, a fair amount of time was dedicated to golf.

Donald Trump reveals how well he plays

After discussing certain topics, Trump was asked about his time on the course, which includes his handicap. Though the former president did not state any number, he did mention he was a good player.

“I’ve been a very successful golfer over the years,” Trump said. “I don’t play as much as you really should play if you want to become top-top”.

However, Trump remained firm in admitting that he has been successful. “I’ve won many many club championships – which is hard to do. That’s our major”. 

Gary Player on Trump’s golfing abilities

Trump brought along some additional facts by Gary Player to further his point. Player, easily one of the best players the tour has seen, stated that Trump was better than other presidents by at least 20 to 25 shots. Trump disagreed a bit, adding that he thinks that he is better than that, and not just 20 to 25 shots. He further goes on to mention Player as a legendary golfer.

Subsequently, he ended up discussing his trash talk on the course. As per the businessman and former president, he needs to focus and limit his trash talk. “You can talk, and then you can miss the putt and all the talk is no good,” he said.

After all, getting the job done is slightly more important.

Furthermore, Trump has ended up playing with many golfers over the years. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsumaya, Dustin Johnson, Jack Nicklaus, Justin Thomas, and Bryson DeChambeau are a few of the big names. Not only does this include some PGA Tour greats, but also iconic venues.

Of course, the Trump Organization has many golf courses they own and manage.
