Winning the Masters is the ultimate goal and a career-defining accomplishment for many golfers. However, winning the competition is the pinnacle of success. Few golfers ever get the chance to compete against the finest players in the world on one of the game’s most famous courses.

After making the cut, Woods revealed his desire to do more. During the post-game interview, the Hall of Famer was asked how much it meant to make the cut.

In response Woods said, “I’ve always loved this golf course, and I love playing this event. Obviously, I’ve missed a couple with some injuries, but I’ve always wanted to play here. I’ve loved it. I hope I get a chance to play this weekend. I’m sorry. I got a chance to play on the weekend. I wish I get a chance to play two more rounds.”

Despite making the cut, Woods’ interview has left the fans in dilemma. The 15-times majors winner’s wish to play the last two rounds has surely put a question mark on his body fitness. With reports also coming in about his body strains, Woods’ part in the final two rounds is in jeopardy.

Tiger Woods’ performance at the 2023 Masters

Woods surely struggled in the opening round of the 87th Masters. However, the 82 times PGA Tour winner did not let his first-round performance affect him. The five-times Masters winner used all this experience and battled back to make the cut. This marks his 23rd consecutive time of making the cut at the Masters. Woods is now tied with Gary Player and Fred Couples for the most Masters cuts made in the history of golf.

However, making the cut was not easy for him as Woods struggled with his shots. The Hall of Famer scored bogeys on two of his final three holes in Round 2 as the play wrapped on the Saturday morning. However, Woods just slid inside the cut line. His two rounds’ cumulative score is at three over par, which was the cut line. However, with two rounds still to play, it remains to be seen if Woods will be able to play or not.
