Tiger Woods: ‘I Can Still Compete With These Kids’

Despite being a part of the field, Tiger Woods had to withdraw from the 2022 Hero World Challenge due to health-related issues. The accident he had in 2021 made him weak, especially with his legs. And according to the golfer, not being able to walk is the sole reason for withdrawing from the tournament this week. However, that doesn’t mean he has become less of a golfer.
Hero World Challenge, PNC Championship, and ‘The Match,’ – Woods planned to play in all three events before the end of this year. However, the hard work he put on himself to attend a tournament since the last Open Championship took a toll on him.

According to the 15-time major champion, walking in every round of an official tournament, where he refuses to use a golf cart, is hard. And if he can make it happen without having pain, there is no way of stopping him.
“If I can do that,” he revealed as he joined the NBC broadcast booth as the host of the Hero World Challenge. “I can still compete with these kids,” he added.
Tiger Woods hopes for a big result as he awaits to become completely healthy
Tiger Woods planned to play only the 150th Open Championship in the 2021-2022 season. Yet, he played three events, all majors. Nonetheless, the spectators could see their favorite struggle walking as he still has yet to completely heal from the injuries he got from the massive car crash of 2021.
Although the 82-time PGA Tour champion looks healthy, he still has pain while walking. And since he is against using a golf cart in an official event, only time can tell when he can attend a Tour event and play all four rounds.
