Tiger Woods Trained for 13 Hours a Day: Here’s a Breakdown of His Vigorous Routine
Starting his career in the 90s, Tiger Woods has been a part of professional golf for over two decades now. While the PGA Tour legend is currently sidelined after his car crash in February, Woods has spent his fair amount of time working out and getting ready for the course. Back in 2018, Woods’ former trainer spoke about his schedule years ago, and how much time he spent training.
Up until the Masters last year, Woods was dealing with multiple health issues. However, the 45-year-old has given in his own share of training when he was young. Let’s take a look at what his former trainer Hank Haney had to say about Woods and his routine.

In an older interview, Haney spoke about Woods and his extensive workout schedule. The 15-time major winner apparently worked for 13 hours a day, which were not uncommon hours for the star.
The now-45-year-old would start at 6:00 AM, and then do a two-hour session on swings and more. He would then play nine holes, break for lunch, and then play nine holes again. Woods would continue training till 6:00 PM, after which he’d engage in his second workout before dinner.

Sometimes, Woods would also go for a run in the morning to change things up. He would also play basketball or tennis if anyone was there to play with him.
“He knew he was paying a price that not many people would pay, and that gives you an edge mentally,” Haney said. “He walked to the first tee every week knowing he wasn’t going to run across many players who had outworked him.”
Of course, Woods no longer works out like that.

When will Woods be back?
As per certain reports, Woods can finally make a public appearance at the Hero World Challenge. If he does, it is going to be his first public appearance in a long time. Additionally, his yacht was apparently seen arriving in Albany, where the event is taking place. The 82-time PGA Tour winner, however, does not travel in his yacht, and only stays in it.
