Some big names in women’s golf are heading to Columbia Edgewater for the next LPGA Tour event. They will compete for a $2 million purse and an opportunity to gain some momentum before things start heating up again on the road. The likes of Jin Young Ko, Rose Zhang, and Lilia Vu are all looking for their first win of the season. Luckily, all eyes will be on them as the field on the Oregon-based course is not that star-studded.
Yes, many big names will not feature in the 2025 Standard Portland Classic this week. With the CPKC Women’s Open lined up, they have decided to take some much-needed rest before getting back to action in Canada next week. So who is missing from the $2 million event? Let’s find out!

Nelly Korda
Only a couple of days ago, Nelly Korda did a huge photo dump on Instagram. It was evident that the former world #1 was spending a lot of time traveling and enjoying delicious desserts. She has also been training and keeping herself fit. But her priority, it seems, is to have some fun as she catches a break from the hectic majors schedule. The T36 finish at the AIG Women’s Open proved detrimental to the drop in her world rankings. One could have imagined her trying to gain her spot back with a win in Oregon.

However, Nelly Korda is in no mood to return to action so soon. She is confirmed for the field for the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open. But she will not be participating in the Standard Portland Classic this week, according to the official LPGA Tour website.
Lydia Ko
In her story from a few hours before the beginning of the tournament, Lydia Ko celebrated the return of the 65-year-old Hall of Famer, Juli Inkster, to the 2025 Standard Portland Classic. While she may be on the course in Oregon to watch one of her idols play, the New Zealand international golfer is not a part of the field herself. The 28-year-old has had a horrid time this season apart from her win in the 2025 HSBC Women’s World Championship. She will need to take a break to recuperate before getting back to the CPKC Women’s Open, an event that she has won three times in her career. Until then, fans can probably enjoy watching Lydia Ko cheering for Juli Inkster as the veteran pro tries to repeat her success in the Portland-based event from 1999.

Jeeno Thitikul
The new world #1, Jeeno Thitikul, has also decided to skip the trip to Oregon. Since the end of May 2025, the Thai golfer has played in 6 tournaments. She barely caught a break after the conclusion of the 2025 AIG Women’s Open. With that, Thitikul also became the world #1 player in women’s golf for the second time in her career. With her position not at risk, the 22-year-old was wise enough to take an extra week off before flying to Canada next week to face Nelly Korda once again.

Charley Hull
Charley Hull nearly turned her career around when she came close to winning the 2025 AIG Women’s Open on home soil. The beloved LPGA Tour star finished at T2, only 2 strokes behind Miyū Yamashita, and tied with Minami Katsu. However, after her recent injury and withdrawal during the major in Paris, her efforts at Royal Porthcawl only created further complications. She had to withdraw from a Ladies European Tour event as well due to the same reason.
While Hull still made an appearance in the event to show support for the participants, she was still on her road to recovery. As she continues to rehabilitate from the same, she is also having an active social life and keeping her fans updated on Instagram. But being on the field in Oregon was a bit too much still for Charley Hull.

Lexi Thompson
The part-time professional golfer, Lexi Thompson, is still on a sabbatical from the LPGA Tour. While she had been actively participating in events hosted in America, she hadn’t made a single appearance since the Tour traveled to Europe. It’s not that Thompson doesn’t want to travel out of the country. She has confirmed her participation in next week’s Canadian Women’s Open as well. However, the 30-year-old has been quite picky about the kind of tournaments she wants to play. And unfortunately, the 2025 Standard Portland Classic doesn’t come under her priority list.
