2023 Travelers Championship power rankings
This tournament will be fierce since many top-notch players will be in the field. But the top 5 contenders power rankings are as follows:
These days, Viktor Hovland is the name that is becoming more well-known. The young Norwegian golfer won twice on the PGA Tour during his debut season as a pro in 2019. He has again demonstrated this year why he is a valuable addition to the game of golf by placing second at the PGA Championship and winning the Memorial Tournament. This time, World No. 5 appears to be fully committed to winning his first major trophy.
For his slow play, Patrick Cantlay has been featured in highlights. But his consistency and skills can’t be ignored. Cantlay, who is currently ranked fourth on the PGA Tour, has played in 12 events so far this season and finished in the top 25 in 11 of them. He will likely play a fantastic game in preparation for the last major championship at this week’s Travelers Championship.

Next up, we have this day’s sensation, currently the World No. 3, Rory McIlroy. He recently dazzled audiences at the US Open and will be present to adorn the field. By earning the second spot at the US Open, he proved why he is among the best. He also hinted at focusing on ending his nine-year major drought, and this week’s event will be the perfect stepping stone for that.
Moving along to the second pick, it is none other than the 2023 Masters winner, Jon Rahm. He has been in incredible form this year, with four victories and a runner-up result. He took home his first green jacket after winning the Masters competition. The World No. 2 will, indeed, increase the level of competitiveness at the event as he looks to pocket yet another title win this season.
Scottie Scheffler, world No. 1, is one of the headliners of the event and the favorite pick for many to win this week. This year, fans have seen his remarkable game. Scheffler has won two big events this season: the Players Championship and the WM Phoenix Open. He earned a second-place finish at the PGA Championship and a third-place finish at the Memorial Tournament. With so much on his roster, we can expect the best from him.
The field at the Travelers Championship and the prize money purse
In total, eight of the world’s top 10 players are in the field this week, with only Jordan Spieth and LIV Golf’s Cameron Smith absent. Ricki Fowler, who impressed everyone with his game at the US Open, will also take the field. Despite missing out on his maiden major title, he will take plenty of optimism into this week’s event. Another player who has been in excellent form this year is Tommy Fleetwood. He has won six times on the European Tour and recently finished second at the RBC Canadian Open.
The tournament is one of the most elevated because of the whopping $20 million purse. Last time, it was $8.3 million. Along with the trophy, the winner will also take home a $3,600,000 grand prize.
