Bernhard Langer’s history on the PGA Tour is well-known. While his golfing days are behind him, except for the annual tee-off at the Augusta National, the 65-year-old remains attached to the sport. Indeed, the German created a legacy for himself in the game’s biggest moments, which have become hallmarks in golf’s history. Hence, it was no surprise when Langer decided to exhibit two of his most revered collector’s items recently.

The German golfer has been associated with British-founded Swiss watch designer and manufacturer Rolex for many years. Having worn the iconic company’s watches during his most illustrious moments, it’s no surprise that Langer has a few timepieces as his collector’s items.

Thus, to celebrate Langer’s 40th appearance at the prestigious Masters Tournament last week, the company decided to display “two significant tools” from his career. Still making waves among fans, one of them included his persimmon driver from his victorious 1993 Masters campaign.

Interestingly, Langer claimed that his driver was the last wooden driver to win a Major. The 65-year-old won his second Masters title that year by defeating runner-up Chip Beck by a margin of four strokes.

Langer previously won the illustrious Green Jacket in 1985. The two wins at the Augusta National Golf Club remained the German’s only major championship victories on the tour.

Furthermore, the exhibition showcased Langer’s gleaming Rolex watch he wore during the 2004 Ryder Cup. The event was Langer’s first and only bi-continental event as captain, which ended with him on the winning side.

Despite facing a strong American side on their own turf at the Oakland Hills Country Club, Langer and his team remained unfazed to clinch the tournament by a landslide scoreline. The result meant that Team Europe retained its trophy, having reigned supreme at the postponed 2002 edition.

Langer also has bitter history at the Ryder Cup. The seasoned golfer was part of an extraordinary finish at the 1991 edition played at Kiawah Island. Despite the German’s heroics on the final day of the event, a missed putt from six feet undid his chances to clinch victory for his team.
