Is Tiger Woods already improving from his recovery? The soon-to-be 49-year-old is at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club with his son Charlie Woods right now. As fans might already know and be excited about, the duo is set to feature in the 2024 PNC Championship.

This would be Woods’s first outing since the second round of The Open Championship back in July 2024. Having gone through injuries and a major surgery, the GOAT was expected to make a comeback in the 2024 Hero World Championship alongside Scottie Scheffler.

However, things didn’t go as planned as in the pre-tournament press conference for the event, Woods had announced that he was still not physically or medically ready to take on the course a few weeks ago. However, things seem to have changed a lot since then.

As reported by Adam Schupak on their X account, Tiger Woods looked healthy and ready to go as he walked across the golf course during the practice session a few hours ago. While the 82x PGA Tour winner had the option to use the cart, he still opted to walk across the 54-par holes.

The caption on @AdamSchupak’s post read, “Tiger is walking so far. He can use a cart. Opting not to. Flat course, better to keep the back loose. Feels like a good sign that the back and legs can handle 54 holes. Then again, I didn’t even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.”

If a stay at the Holiday Inn Express is all that the 48-year-old needed to get back in better shape, then he would have done that a lot sooner. All jokes aside, it’s good to see Tiger Woods being healthy and back on the greens. Watching him doing what he does best again is an added bonus.

However, this might ring some alarm bells for his opponents at the event. Maybe the likes of John Daly & Vijay Singh will need to keep a close eye on what the GOAT is up to just hours before the event is about to begin. Who else might compete with the 5x Masters Tournament winner? Let’s find out.

Tiger Woods vs. the Legends

The battle of a fit GOAT vs. the Legends of Golf will be an interesting one to witness. Tiger Woods will definitely be wary of Team Daly and Team Singh. Apart from that, he might also not underestimate Annika Sorenstam & her son, William McGee. Golf great Lee Trevino and Gary Player will also be paired along with their son and grandson; Daniel Trevino and Alexander Hall respectively.

Defending champions Bernhard Langer & Jason Langer of Team Langer will also be strong contenders to retain their title in 2024. Other teams include world no.1 LPGA Tour pro Nelly Korda & Petr Korda, Sir Nick Faldo & Matthew Faldo, and Padraig Harrington & Paddy Harrington among other teams. However, if Tiger Woods is even at 50% fitness, then every other team’s chances of winning the event have just dropped down a lot.

The 2024 PNC Championship featuring Tiger Woods & Charlie Woods is set to begin at 9:00 A.M. (EST) on the Golf Channel and will be split across Peacock and NBC Sports as well during the two days of the event.
