A few years back Golf Digest asked professionals, caddies, and coaches on the PGA Tour about the amount of cash they carry with themselves. The answer ranged from a few bucks to $1000.
However, Phil Mickelson had a staggering amount in his wallet and beat all the professionals in the answer. Phil is considered as probably the most generous tip giver. Well if you have won six major championships, you can not complain about money.

Phil revealed that he carries $8100 in his wallet. However, Phil said something really sweet and beautiful in his answer.
He said, “$6500 in $100s and $1600 in $20s. I want to take care of people. You shouldn’t be expecting stuff for free. If someone does something for you, you should take care of them.”

Moreover, a PGA Tour official, Slugger White also spoke about an incident of generosity by Phil. Slugger said, “I watched him tip $20 when all he had for breakfast was two strips of bacon.” He added, “He’s the biggest tipper on tour. Phil is pretty generous.”

On the contrary the Australian professional, Addam Scott just keeps around $300-$400 for tips. He said, “I never used to carry that much, but spending a lot of time in the US, I’ve become used to the tipping culture.”

First major win of Phil Mickelson
Mickelson won his first major championship back in 2004. The lefty won the 2004 Masters at Augusta by a near margin. He won the event with an overall score of nine-under-par. Mickelson won the event with a one-shot lead, he won prize money worth $1,170,000. Ernie Els finished as the runner-up to Phil, the South African professional ended the event with an overall score of eight-under-par.
