Bobby Jones is one of the most prominent figures in the sport of golf. He is a seven-time major championship winner. Jones also won the US Amateur Championship five times. Though the tournament ended a week ago at Pebble Beach, the craze for it still lingers.
In light of that let’s celebrate it with a throwback to Bobby Jones playing at Pebble Beach back in 1929.

2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was another enthralling event of the 2022 PGA Tour season. The event as usual included both professionals as well as, amateur celebrities. The amateurs were a part of the event after a break of one year due to safety norms.
Tom Hoge won the professional title with a beautiful final round 0f 68. As a result, ended the tournament with an overall score of 19-under-par. Let us take a trip back to the memory lane and relive the moment when Bobby Jones visited the Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Jones arrived at Pebble Beach in 1929 for the US Amateur Championship. He entered the event as a two-time champion and earlier in the same year won the US Open at Winged Foot Golf Club in June.

In the precious clipping, Jones is seen playing the Pebble Beach course. The video features Bobby teeing the ball off with the beautiful water in the back. He is also seen hitting it from the bunker onto the green.

However, Bobby could not claim the victory at the course. He missed the put at the 18th hole to win the hole and move on to extra holes.

2021 US Amateur Championship winner
Fast-forwarding to the 2021 US Amateur Championship. The 2021 US Amateur champion was James Piot from Michigan State University. He won 2&1 over Austin Greaser of the University Of North Carolina. Piot won the championship game at the Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont.
