The LPGA Tour 2025 season is coming to a close. And next week, the stars will be participating in Nelly Korda‘s favorite event. It’s the Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, the penultimate tournament of the season. The event will feature the former world #1 and defending champion Korda, the runner-up in 2024, Charley Hull, and many other big names. And they will all be playing at the Pelican Golf Club.

Well, what’s so special about the course that Nelly Korda has dominated it so often? She has won three of the five editions of the tournament that have been played so far. Well, one thing that is constant in all three wins is that she is consistent in her scoring pattern. That’s probably because the par-70 courses that are spread across 7,000 yards really suit her range and rhythm. Another factor may be that, despite the diverse weather in the region, the latitude 36 bermudagrass stays lush and vibrant all season long, according to the venue’s website.

The course was originally designed by the renowned golf course designer, David Ross, in 1925. However, after nearly 100 years, the original plans and blueprints for it were lost. Hence, when the Doyle family purchased the course, Beau Welling used, to the best of his knowledge, Ross’ work in 2018. The Doyles also wanted to make sure that the Pelican paid homage to another iconic golf course, Augusta National. They paid close attention to detail and focused on matching the standards set by the course.

The club itself offers a lot of services and amenities. Fans planning to attend the event can enjoy the Club 59, BayCare Long Putt Challenge, Autograph Alley, Junior Golf Shows, Publix Chillounge, I GOT THIS Clinic, and the Hero Outpost. And with the tournament coming up, you can try out some of these services while also watching your favorite stars like Hull & Korda play.
