Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake’s venture, T-Square Social, opened its first bar in New York, Manhattan. The duo had the idea to revamp the historical cinema, The New Picture House, in St. Andrews, Scotland into a sports bar.
However, right after the announcement, the St. Andrews University students filed a petition and garnered the support of more than 7500 people. Expressing their displeasure with the revamp, they said, “We share a common fear for future generations who may be denied the opportunity to experience this cultural hub. It’s a part of our identity, a source of pride, and an integral element of our town’s fabric. To allow it to fade away would be a disservice to our rich heritage and the generations yet to come.”
