Bryson DeChambeau is one of the most talked about names in the LIV league. Previously, the golfer played on the PGA Tour, and in his time there, he bagged eight PGA Tour wins and one major win at the 2020 US Open at Winged Foot West Course. Other than the PGA Tour, he also made appearances at Korn Ferry Tour events and European Tour events. But from last year onwards, he has dedicated his time mostly to his present tour, LIV Golf. Also, his most frequent appearances are at LIV events.

In terms of his current season performance, the star golfer had five top-ten finishes in the LIV events. Out of which, he stood first in two. He sealed the season’s first victory in LIV Golf Greenbrier at the Old White Course with a record score of 23-under 187. Also, the last round of Greenbrier saw his career-best round of 58. Then, DeChambeau came in first in the LIV Golf Invitational Chicago at Rich Harvest Farms with a score of 13-under 200.

The California-based golfer also stood at T4 in the PGA Championship (held at Oak Hill Country Club), scoring 3-under 277. He has indeed achieved a lot this year and there is an on-course influence in some of that success.

Bryson DeChambeau’s on-course buddy

Previously, when Bryson DeChambeau played for the PGA Tour, Tim Tucker was on his bag for most of the time and even witnessed all of DeChambeau’s eight PGA Tour event wins. But in 2021, during the Rocket Mortgage Classic, they parted ways. DeChambeau’s agent, Brett Falkoff, confirmed the news and said, “They had a good run, and they mutually agreed yesterday afternoon to go their separate ways.”

He added: “It wasn’t one specific issue. It was a culmination. Like any caddie-player relationship, they had their ups and downs. They wish each other nothing but the best and will always be there for each other.”

Then the golfer brought in Ben Schomin, the Cobra Golf Tour’s operations manager, briefly as his bagman. Later, again he switched to another caddie, and his name was Brian Zeigler. He had previously worked as an instructor at the Dallas National Golf Club, which is DeChambeau’s home club.

However, after a lot of changes, he finally found his true bagman Greg Bodine. Bodine caddied for Tony Finau before and carried the bag for Bryson in the LIV Golf Tulsa, the LIV Golf Greenbrier (where he won), and the 2023 PGA Championship. Greg will also be accompanying Bryson DeChambeau for the LIV Golf Jeddah and LIV Golf Miami in October 2023. Let’s find out more about Bodine.
