David Puig made many heads turn when he left the Arizona State Sun Devils men’s golf team to join LIV Golf. But it was not the Saudi-funded huge prize pool that attracted the Spaniard; it was the chance and a guarantee to play against some of the top golfers.

He joined the Torque GC team along with Joaquín Niemann, Sebastián Muñoz, and Mito Pereira. But in the process, Puig lost opportunities to compete in majors. The 22-year-old did not go through any challenge off and on the course alone, as he had someone special by his side, all this time. Who is it that David Puig has gotten his lucky kiss from at the LIV Golf Invitational—Greenbrier at The Old White Course?

For how long has David Puig been dating Berta Sanchez?

Although the exact time when Puig met Berta Sanchez is not known, the earliest photos of them together surfaced on Puig’s Instagram account on 2018’s Valentine’s Day. It is safe to assume that Sanchez has been a long-time girlfriend of Puig for more than six years now.

The couple was seen at several Federecio Catalana de Golf events together in 2019 when Puig defended his winning title. From traveling together to Budapest to attending Halloween parties together, the couple likes to celebrate moments with each other.

Berta Sanchez turned 22 years old this February. She has been part of Jacksonville State’s women’s golf team. In her freshman year there, she tied for the OVC Championship record with a 6-under-72 par and hence claimed the medalist crown. The following year, as a sophomore, she made yet another achievement.

According to The Anniston Star, “Berta Sanchez became the second-ever Gamecock to compete in an NCAA Women’s Regional as an individual.” A former Ohio Valley Conference champion, Berta Sanchez has also won the titles of Conference Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

At present, Sanchez is a junior on the Kent State Women’s Golf Team. She has already participated in five tournaments for the Golden Flashes. Sanchez has also been among the top 25 after she scored 8-over par [224] in the Lady Buckeye Invitational. However, her season’s best came when she scored 219 at the UCF Challenge. Sanchez’s coach at the Kent State Women’s Golf team, VanDamme, has said how disciplined a student-athlete she is.

The coach has also added, “Her improvement has been steady and she is on track to achieving her goals. While recruiting her we were impressed with her commitment, determination, and belief in herself. She has won at the college level and we are excited that she chose to be a Golden Flash.”
