After spending four years on the LPGA Tour, one thing is certain for Linn Grant: she has a lot more success to achieve in women’s golf. And throughout her journey, she’ll always have her boyfriend’s support. Her beloved is fellow pro golfer Pontus Samuelsson. Let us get to know a bit about him.

Pontus was born on July 13th, 2000, in Linköping, Sweden, to Marina Rydgren and Jan Samuelsson. Being a golfer himself, Samuelsson is familiar with the stress Grant goes through on and off the course. Maybe that’s why they make such a great pair. The two have been together for over 5 years now.
Navigating through his own professional journey, Pontus Samuelsson is trying to break through the ranks in the DP World Tour. But he’s yet to find his footing, unlike his girlfriend, who is already a 1-time LPGA Tour champion. Samuelsson represents the Landeryds Golf Club. But he also had another job when he was not getting enough opportunities.

Speaking to Golf Digest, Grant had admitted that Samuelsson also assisted her professionally. During her interview, she said, “When my boyfriend was my caddie my first year on tour, that was great. When he went back to college, I hired a professional caddie.”
Pontus carried Linn’s bags during her rookie season on the LPGA Tour in 2022. She only played six tournaments in that season. However, with Samuelsson by her side, Grant was certainly getting far better results. She finished in the top 10 in four of those events. We wonder what would have happened if her boyfriend had stuck around for another season or two.

Speaking of their relationship, the couple may always be surrounded by golf, but they don’t shy away from stepping away from the course every opportunity they get.

Linn Grant & Pontus Samuelsson’s life away from the fairway
While golf may consume most of their life, Linn Grant & Pontus Samuelsson also often take a break from it to enjoy other leisurely activities. One of them is going out for fine-dining meals. Whether they’re craving a steak, sushi, or some English high tea, the couple doesn’t mind visiting the finest restaurants to please their palate. They also seem to enjoy going on drives together, as Grant has shared a few pictures of them enjoying a ride.
Other than golf, Grant & Samuelsson also enjoy staying active through other sports and adventures. They gym together and also go out for hikes. Sometimes, the two Swedish pros even head out for boat rides. But going through Linn Grant’s Instagram, it does seem like Pontus Samuelsson has always tried to be by her side in every stage of her life since 2022. As she continues to look for success in the LPGA Tour, he will certainly be the one cheering the loudest for her, even if he can’t be behind the ropes.
