Will Zalatoris Injury Update: 26-Year-Old Confirms Return Timeline After a Long Setback

The following season of 2023 can be a new beginning for Will Zalatoris, who was sidelined since August due to his injury. But the news of him returning to sentry has been making rounds on the internet. The American golfer missed the rest of the 2022 events due to his back injury. He suffered two herniated disks during the third round of the BMW Championship. Zalatoris had previously won his first PGA championship at Fed Ex St. However; now it looks like the Sentry Tournament of Champions could be the site of his return.

The golfer earned great heights after finishing second at the 2021 Masters championship, which was also his debut. There, he proved his excellent skills and made himself one of the finest golfers we know today. After his back injury, he had to stay away for months, but he is returning with a blast, and we are all excited to see him pulling great shots.

Is Will Zalatoris returning to the field?

Will Zalatoris is scheduled to play in January on the PGA Tour for the first time since sustaining an injury in August 2022. The fans are stoked to learn that he will participate in the Sentry Tournament of Champions, which will take place from January 5 to 8 at The Plantation Course at Kapalua.

The Twitter handle of the Sentry tournament made the news official. They wrote“Returning to competition this January, @WillZalatoris is primed for a big 2023. Zalatoris gave fans one of the most electrifying finishes on TOUR, winning the @FedExChamp in a playoff to nab his first career @PGATOUR victory.”

The PGA pro last played at the first FedExCup Playoff event in 2022. His dramatic playoff with Straka was memorable; however, he only played 40 holes. After winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Zalatoris topped the FedExCup standings. However, he had to withdraw early from the BMW Championship the following week due to injury.

The pro was the only one with the most money and the best world ranking without a PGA Tour victory. Zalatoris almost won the 2022 PGA Championship; however, he finished second place. He fell short of Justin Thomas in a playoff. However, it was an achievement because it was his third major tournament, where he finished next to the best and ended up as a runner-up.
