Simone Biles Dwells on Gymnastics’ Future Amidst Hectic Tour Schedule

Even as the mega-quadrennial games come to an end, stress continues to mount over the American sensation. Simone Biles has had a hectic week on the red carpet. Notably, the youngster recently appeared on the MTV VMA’s and also made her debut at the Met Gala 2021.

After clinching her seventh historic victory at Tokyo Olympics 2020, Simone has emerged as the GOAT of gymnastics. She is indeed one of the most decorated gymnasts in history, not only because of her medals, but also for her inspiring personality.

2021 was hectic, but rewarding indeed

Ahead of her appearance in Tokyo, Simone was the fan favorite to clinch a medal. However, citing mental health concerns, she withdrew from the majority of the events, sparking controversy and conversation across the globe. Although, shutting haters with her performance eventually, she still outclassed her opponents in one event and secured the individual bronze medal.

However, now away from the sport, Simone opened up on how her life has been super hectic, and she needs time to think about her Olympic future.

“Still sorting out,” she said. “I feel like from the Olympics to now, it’s kind of been a whirlwind and there’s really no time to think about anything but to stay in shape and get ready for tour, and afterwards decompress and kind of see where life takes me, whether that’s in the gym or out of the gym,” Simone added.

Adding two new medals to her tally, Simone is now the most decorated American gymnast in the sport’s history. Courtesy of her remarkable feat, early recognition flew in for the youngster as she made her debut at the most iconic fashion event, the Met Gala 2021.

Although, her 2021 achievements did not end there. The 7-time Olympic medalist was further named in the Times 100 most influential people. Remarkably, she topped the Titans section, and tennis legend Serena Williams wrote her essay.

Undoubtedly, Tokyo Olympics 2020 was not what the fans or Simone herself had expected. However, it cannot be denied that she was the Olympic star, regardless.

Amidst her withdrawal and everything around it, fans only witnessed a glimpse of Biles’ magic moves. While she has not announced her retirement yet, she has not even had the time to think about it.

Simone took the daring step of saying ”I am not okay”, during the finals of the women’s team event. Biles withdrew mid-match, safeguarding herself and rightly so. While she faced heavy criticism for her decision, many came to her aid as well.

Nevertheless, Simone’s future in gymnastics might be unsure, but she will never stop inspiring people around the world.
