The Met Gala show is an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. It is one of the most prominent events in the fashion calendar with around $200 million being raised. Moreover, celebrities dress in extravagant dresses according to the themes decided by the organizers. In this year’s event, Simone Biles donned one of the most breathtaking dresses, complete with a long, flowing gown. Simone’s gown had to be carried by six men as the gymnast climbed stairs.

After her recent appearance at the VMAs, Biles made her debut on the red carpet of the 2021 Met Gala.

Her dress weighed around 88 pounds as six grown men carried the train of the gown. The dress consisted of a black bodysuit with star details, and a silver train. The design of the dress is a collaboration between AREA and Athleta. Moreover, the dress seemed perfectly suited for Biles in a design described as “the intersection where performance, strength, and beauty meet.”

Also, Athleta is going to donate $50,000 to the Power of She Fund. Simone and her dress looked like a match made in heaven. Her physique perfectly complimented her style as she stole the show.

Biles looks excited!

The gymnast famously withdrew from the recent Team Artistic Gymnastics competitions at Tokyo Olympics 2020. Citing mental health concerns, the athlete decided to not take part in the competition despite being the favorite to win. But, she rightly prioritized her mental health and Biles seemed happy during her time at the Met Gala.

“Definitely not the way I planned the Olympics going but I wouldn’t change anything for the world.”

“For some of you that may be how you define me but keep talking because I can’t hear you over my 7 Olympic medals which tied me for the most decorated gymnast EVER as well as most decorated American gymnast,” said Biles.
