Baseball Hall of Fame has snubbed Alex Rodriguez yet again. The 14-time All-Star with 3 league MVPs and a World Series title, A-Rod, is already an MLB legend. The only player in MLB history to have over 300 stolen bases, 2000 RBI, and almost 700 home runs, A-Rod, is an icon. But because of his history with performance-enhancing drugs, Rodriguez is yet to be given one of the highest honors an American sports personality can get.

Retired in 2016, A-Rod now spends his days as a businessman. With his second year on the ballot, the 47-year-old did get upvoted, but the numbers were only slightly better than last year. But despite the voters snubbing him once again, it didn’t stop him from applauding another player.

Scott Rolen finally coveted enough votes for his induction into Cooperstown after 6 years on the ballot. Rolen was the only one out of 28 members on the ballot to receive the required 74% votes, winning 76.3. And A-Rod congratulated the newest member on his Instagram story.

He posted the official picture announcing the former Phillies player joining the class of 2023. And added the caption, “Congratulations to Scott Rolen on getting the call to Cooperstown! Well deserved.”

And it certainly is well deserved, as Rolen’s impressive defensive abilities and career achievements clearly show. Rolen’s old team also congratulated him, with the Cincinnati Reds sharing the first thing he did after the announcement. Which was to play catch with his son.

The former shortstop became eligible for Cooperstown two years ago but given his PEDs history, he only received 34.3% votes. While this time his total votes were 35.7%, the rise in numbers is still insignificant because it’s a far cry from the required 75%. A-Rod has previously talked about how he thinks players associated with PED usage shouldn’t be excluded from consideration. He thinks everyone deserves an equal chance.

Some pro baseballers with outstanding MLB careers but no Cooperstown induction yet famously include Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. Much like Rodriguez, accusations of PED clouded their numerous achievements. Rodriguez could still make it to the Hall of Fame, even if it’s too late for the others.
