Harry Kane has signed a massive new contract at Tottenham Hotspurs worth up to 200,000 pounds a week including bonuses. Club chairman Daniel Levy, after weeks of negotiation, has managed to ward off Real Madrid and PSG to secure the signature of his superstar striker.

The 24-year-old’s old contract ran up to December 2022 and ensured that he would get a basic pay of 100,000 pounds a week and bonuses would be extra. The new one, however, significantly improves not only his wages but is also being seen as a statement of intent to the other clubs. Spurs are desperate to build a team for their future and Kane is, of course, a key cog of the squad.

The English striker would be leading his side at the World Cup this summer and he will hope to carry on his good form from the league. He won the Golden Boot in each of the last 2 seasons and only missed out to Mohammed Salah’s tally of 32 goals in the 2017/18 edition of the English Premier League by 2 goals. Overall, he has netted 156 goals for the Londoners in just 4 seasons.

Despite the steep rise in his pay, Kane could have earned a lot more at any of the Spanish or other English clubs who were monitoring his decisions. However, his commitment is a delight for the Spurs fans, who will be hoping to break their trophyless streak next season. Manager Mauricio Pochettino obviously also had a big hand to play in Kane’s meteoric rise to the top and as per reports, is also extremely delighted that the player has decided to stick by his childhood club.

Speaking on the new deal in his announcement video, Kane, as humble as ever said, ” I’m just excited to keep on the train and see where it can go”.Only time will tell if his loyalty will reward him with silverware or not. Keep watching this space for more.
