Tommy Haas had a very successful career. He won 15 titles and achieved a ranking of World No. 2 in his career. Additionally, he was also an Olympic Silver Medalist before ending his career in 2018. However, the German decided to make a comeback for the exhibition in Berlin.
He reached the semi-final of the event where he faced Dominic Thiem. He managed to challenge the Austrian, having two set points in the first set. Unsurprisingly, though, he lost the match 7-6 6-3.

“I was really happy to face Tommy. Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to face each other on the Tour. So it was nice that we had one competitive match. I really admire his game style and he has had an influence on mine. Today, I think was a great match on a very high-level and he can beat pretty much anybody on a good day. So, I am happy to be through and at the end, it was a fun match and I think we both enjoyed it.”
