Nobody tells you how difficult is it for coaches. While they are trying to keep themselves afloat in the championship race, at the same time, they are ensuring that they land recruits to bolster their roster. Right at the moment, there is a big craze for 5-star DL Jahkeem Stewart. The athlete has hit the noncommitment button. With one move, Stewart has left Ryan Day and Dan Lanning on their toes. Okay, now what if I tell you it’s not only about the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks?

Well, Jahkeem had been the talk of the town and he knew that very well. Why wouldn’t he? After all, the 5-star DL announced his decision to reclassify from the 2026 class to the 2025 class on Saturday, October 26. Until then, the coaches were not quite bothered about him, since they thought that they had time in hand. But now that he is ineligible to play for Edna Karr High School after transferring from St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Stewart highlights that he is still open to commitments. On October 31, he re-shared the On3 Recruits post on his IG story where his picture, along with fellow 5-star DL Justus Terry’s picture, is posted with the headline “UNCOMMITTED 5-STARS.”

Beneath Stewart’s picture are the symbols of the contenders who are fighting for the DL. They are the LSU Tigers, USC Trojans, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Oregon Ducks. Now where does Lanning’s Ducks stand in the recruiting drive? Here insider Josh Newberg helped us with some insights, “I think things are trending the right way for Oregon in this recruitment for Jahkeem Stewart.” But how is the analyst so sure about Stewart’s chances with Lanning’s program? The Ducks’ big win against Day’s Buckeyes 32-21. Well, that did not stop the Ohio State HC from pursuing the player.

All thanks to analyst Steve Wiltfong for some inside updates, “In the fall I traded some texts with his camp today. He is going to dinner with the coaching staff tonight I imagine Ryan Day will be part of that.” But looks like Stewart has already made up his mind.

Who might be the game-changer in landing Jahkeem Stewart?

When things started to turn intense for ‘Mission Jahkeem Stewart’ the DL already had his final destination in his mind ready. And time for your big guess? Well, let me break the answer to you. It’s the Oregon Ducks that the DL places at the top of his list of favorites. A few days back, Stewart shocked college football fans with his answer, “I can definitely see myself playing in that type of environment. The Oregon fans showed me a ton of love.”

But according to Wiltfong, the Tigers must not lose their hope till the very last day. And how can the analyst be so sure about things turning in Brian Kelly’s favor? “There are a lot of people around the state of Louisiana that think he ultimately will end up at LSU,” claimed the analyst. And here comes the best part.

“He’s from the state of Louisiana. He’ll be ranked the number two player in that state for this class,” is what might turn up as the game changer. Who do you think Jahkeem Stewart would go for? Drop in your suggestions and let’s come back after he has put down his pen on his signing day.
