American tennis star Sloane Stephens has been a notable player on the women’s Tour. From the time she first arrived until now, she has displayed a consistent level in her game. 

However, there are a few things that have caught the attention of the 2017 US Open champion. In recent days, tensions between two countries have caught the attention of everyone, including Stephens, and affected the global scenario.

Sloane Stephens displays her concern on the global crisis 

Although Stephens is a star, at the end of the day, she is human. Her concern for the global conflict is only a reflection of her human side. She hopes this issue can be resolved peacefully and things return to normalcy.

Speaking on this subject, the 28-year-old player stated, “I’m horrified by the invasion of Ukraine and am praying for peaceful resolution and lasting safety for its citizens and for the world.”

Moving on to tennis, Stephens has not enjoyed her best tennis success in recent years. She has not made it to the quarterfinal stage of any Major during the past couple of years.

However, as we’ve seen in the past, the American player has got the formula to bounce back to winning ways. However, in this case, she lost in the opening round of the Australian Open.

At the moment, she is competing in the event in Guadalajara. After winning her opening two matches, she has booked a spot in the quarterfinal. She will be facing Australian tennis player Daria Gavrilova in her next match. We wish her the best of luck for the match and the rest of the season.
