One of the most infamously high-profiled Americans, let along NFL star, OJ Simpson passed away on Wednesday at the age of 76. At the time of his passing away, passed away in Las Vegas surrounded by his children and grandchildren. The news was confirmed by his attorney, however no reason for his death was revealed back then. Recovering from the grief of losing their elder, the Simpson family released a statement on Thursday stating the reason of his death.

Per their statement, the NFL icon died struggling with prostate cancer which is said to be diagnosed in early February. Simpson was already battling with prostate cancer in recent years, and it only worsened, landing him in hospice care in the recent months. Further updates are awaited.
