“I Wanted To Make History”-Jose Aldo Pens Emotional Message after Loss At UFC 251

UFC legend Jose Aldo releases a statement after his loss to Petr Yan at UFC 251.

Jose Aldo went up against Petr Yan for the bantamweight belt at UFC 251. Set at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, this event has faced a lot of criticism the minute it was announced. All the fans were of the opinion that Jose Aldo was receiving special treatment due to his legacy with the promotion and other bantamweight prospects deserve the fight more than him.

Throwing a deaf year to all these pleas the fight went on anyway. Unfortunately, Aldo was unable to prove his worth. He lost the bout via a 5th round TKO at the hands of Petr Yan. And this in no way helped his current credibility with the fans.

Jose Aldo took to social media to issue a brief statement in Portuguese after his loss. He also showed no signs of slowing down or walking away from the sport anytime soon. Jose Aldo has also promised to come back stronger than ever before.

Also Wrote, “Today I woke up thinking of what to say to everyone, and what I have to say is that a loss is part of the sport, it’s part of my life, and those who doesn’t fight are the only ones that don’t lose.

I gave my best in this fight, I gave my all and my best in training, gave my best in my nutrition, I worked hard for I wanted even during a pandemic, but unfortunately, it didn’t work.

Nobody wanted this belt more than me. I wanted to make history, but my opponent did better last night and he has his merits. But people tend to carry the idea of a perfect world and forget that losing one battle doesn’t allow you to humiliate or much less discard someone else.
