Recently, World No.16 Iga Swiatek crashed out of the 2021 Miami Open in the third round. Swiatek suffered a tough loss at the hands of Ana Konjuh in a thrilling three-set match.
Swiatek’s recent loss marked her second consecutive early round-exit. She had earlier suffered a humiliating defeat against Garbine Muguruza in the third round of the Dubai Tennis Championships earlier this month.

To provide fans with a reflection of her thoughts, Swiatek penned down an overwhelming post on her Twitter account and gave an insight into the pressures associated with being a tennis player.
Since winning her maiden Grand Slam title at the Roland Garros last year, the fan expectations from the 19-year-old have risen. Swiatek feels she’s that she’s trying her best, given her experience on the tour in recent years.

“I honestly think that I’m doing a decent job – and looking not at my ranking, but at my experience and development in previous years on tour – I am doing progress,” wrote Swiatek.

However, Swiatek has admitted to finding it hard to calm her nerves on the court and is still adapting to the level of competition on the professional circuit.
The Polish star ended her post on a philosophical note by mentioning, “I look at my tennis work as a marathon, not just a quick sprint.” Swiatek vowed to keep working hard and deliver on the opportunities ahead in her career.
Despite the recent dip in performances, Swiatek won her second tour title at Adelaide International last month. Before that, she made it to the fourth round of the 2021 Australian Open, which is her best performance at Melbourne Park to date.

With the European clay-court season about to start, Swiatek has a few weeks to reset and then improve her form before beginning her title defense at the 2021 French Open.
