After a triumphant display at the Tokyo Olympics, Caeleb Dressel is the male best swimmer in the world right now. He won five gold medals in Japan and lived up to the hype that’s been created around him.

The swimmer is hungry for more glory with his involvement in the International Swimming League competition with Cali Condors. However, the swimmer missed the second day of Match six as his manager, Jason Lezak spoke about the swimmers’ absence.

Caeleb Dressel to sit out for the rest of the competitions
Lezak confirmed that Dressel would miss out on the rest of the matches because of health issues.
“Caeleb was not feeling well before his match on the 12th and as a team, we decided that it would be best for him to sit out of the rest of the regular season so that he will be in optimal condition for the playoffs.”

“His contribution to Cali Condors has been invaluable and we are excited about what the rest of the season holds for our team. With his leadership, the Cali Condors will head to the playoffs with confidence to defend our title,” said Lezak.

Dressel put on a good show on the first day
The American continued his fine form from the Olympics and put on a good show during Matchday 1. Significantly, the American won the men’s 100-meter butterfly while setting a time of 48.71. Likewise, he finished runner-up in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 1:51.14 and took part in two relay competitions, and managed 27.5 points. As a result, he led the points table for the opening day.

Despite the remarkable performance, the swimmer won’t take further part in the swimming competitions. Notably, he was the Match MVP in all three appearances during the first edition of the competition. Soon after, by winning the MVP five times in the second season, he helped the Cali Condors to take home the ISL title.
Thus, Caeleb’s importance to the team cannot be underestimated. However, a break would do him the world of good after sensational performances in the past two months.
