“In my opinion, Verstappen is the fastest driver I have ever seen. I’ve never seen anyone drive a Formula 1 car so fast,” Button told Talksport.com.

“I think he is really very fast, I can’t believe that. Last season he made mistakes, as you would expect from a young driver, but he is already doing so well. I really think he is very special,” he said.

Max Verstappen has a bit of an advantage, having been in the game a few years longer than his peers. So, the Red Bull driver is in a prime position to be the next dominant champion. However, he may need to switch teams and hunt for a new challenge unless Red Bull suddenly improves.

It will be interesting to see what will happen when the old guard, of Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas all retire and seats at the top teams open up. Verstappen also has a young and hungry teammate in the form of Alex Albon.

Whatever the case, it certainly looks like when Hamilton, Vettel and Bottas retire, the future of Formula One is in good hands.
