What additions can Joseph Parker make to Tyson Fury’s game?

The 29-year-old Kiwi captured WBO gold when he fought and beat Andy Ruiz Jr in 2016. After defending the title twice, Parker lost the belt to surging brit Anthony Joshua in 2018. He has gone 5 and 1 since.

The Samoan boxer “Lupesoliai La’auliolemalietoa” has knocked out 21 of his 31 opponents in his pro career and the Chisora fight was a testament to his durability. He sustained the onslaught of Chisora initially and worked his range to maintain control.

Parker, an extremely smart fighter with heavy hands, is a serious threat to anyone in the division. His former opponent, Anthony Joshua, had made comparisons in his fighting style to that of Wilder.

“Wilder throws windmills,” Joshua told Sky Sports while claiming that Parker was more clinical.

“When he [Parker] throws his shots with a left and a right, if the left don’t hit you, the right catches you as you are moving in and knocks the majority of his opponents out.

One thing that stands out in Parker’s game is how he fights so smoothly while retreating. His addition to the Fury camp could mean an improvement in the attack of Fury. ‘The Gypsy King’ has made it clear that he plans to knock Deontay Wilder quickly.

Fury would have to be extremely cautious as he moves in on Parker while in training. Since the threat of getting dazed while entering Parker’s range is significant, Fury would be extremely cautious while putting his pedal to the metal in the Wilder fight.
