Recently, Riot Games released new Valorant Beta Keys while gamers tuned into the Twitch stream with a Drops Enabled tag assigned to it. However, League of Legends journalist Travis Gafford found something fishy about prominent streamer, Dr DisRespect.

Admittedly, a few streamers have discovered loopholes to bag the beta keys. Apparently, numerous scams for beta access popped up with people selling accounts with access online. While many do well to steer clear of these sites and individual, the same cannot be said of Dr DisRespect. The American streamer claimed that drops are enabled on his stream, even though Valorant has not done so for him.

Gafford found it extremely suspicious and tried to call him out for it. Unfortunately, Dr DisRespect has a lot of sway in the streaming community, so he and his legion of fans bore down hard.

The saga began when the Valorant closed beta went live and streamers broadcasted their gameplay. They all hoped to earn a beta key drop for themselves. Dr Disrespect set up a stream titled “DROPS MAXIMIZED” in order to attract viewers and did too good of a job.

Unfortunately his stream misled thousands of fans who hoped for access. If he was planning to break Twitch records, he achieved the objective, as he rocketed into the top ten streams for launch day.

Where did it go wrong for Dr DisRespect

Clearly, Dr Disrespect lived up to his gamer name, as many users claimed that he tried and failed to enable the drops. However, he left his stream title unchanged, though some defenders claimed that he forgot to change it.

He put up another stream claiming that Valorant drops were enabled, with the title reading, “DROPS ALL DAY”. This turned out to be another lie, as users could not find his stream when they activated a filter. Obviously, several outraged fans called him out. However, he allegedly banned them and limited commenting to subscribers only.

Sadly, a few smaller streamers tried to do the same thing and took a page out of his book. They attempted to lure gullible viewers to their channels. Considering that one of Twitch’s biggest names is doing such an act, it may not set a good example for followers.
