Hamilton managed to get back to the pit lane, but he may be in trouble for entering on the wrong side of the pits. When he came in, it caught Mercedes unaware and he ended up having a 50-second pit stop. Now, it has just transpired that Lewis Hamilton has copped a 5-second time penalty. Hamilton is in further trouble after he was put under investigation for driving unnecessarily slowly behind the Safety Car.
