Over the past few weeks, there have been numerous rumors linking the reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton to Scuderia Ferrari. The 6-time world champion is aware of the rumors and confessed that in light of that, he needs to consider his future.

It is worth noting that Hamilton will be out of a contract at the end of the 2020 season and the race is on to acquire his services. Of course, Scuderia Ferrari will only be too happy to snatch a driver of his caliber, but Mercedes could be willing to put up a fight.

The Hamilton-to-Ferrari rumors intensified at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix when Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto admitted that he was glad that Hamilton is on the market for 2021. Furthermore, the Italian media claimed that Hamilton met Ferrari chairman John Elkann several times in 2019.

Speaking about the speculation, Hamilton insisted that he is perfectly happy at Mercedes, however, he has yet to think about his future seriously.

He admitted to the media that he never really gave the idea, of his Formula One future, much thought. However, he is going to think about it, as Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is exploring his options in terms of his future. There were several talks that Wolff may take over from current Formula One CEO, Chase Carey when their contracts expire.

Where will Lewis Hamilton end up in 2021 and beyond?

Lewis Hamilton concluded, “I love where I am so it’s not a quick decision to do something else, but of course I think it’s only smart and wise for me to sit and think of what I want if it is the last period or stage in my career.

“I want to keep winning. I want to keep being able to fight with these guys [Ferrari and Red Bull] as well. I can’t tell you what else is going to happen moving forward.”
