Earlier this year, there were some rumours of a potential Lewis Hamilton hair transplant. Most fans would recognise him having very short hair, and almost bald. However, they were in for a surprise when he suddenly grew his hair and applied numerous hairstyles.

In all honesty, it left them wondering what his secret was and how he went from almost bald to dreadlocks. So, the Formula One world champion opened up on a certain ‘health problem’ that he had.

Did Lewis Hamilton Undergo Hair Transplant?

According to him, the primary culprit was ‘bad hair products’, which caused his hair to thin out. He said in an Instagram video, “If in hotels, would use their bad products but never shampooed and conditioned. My hair started to deteriorate and thin out.”

When speaking to The Sun, rumours of a Lewis Hamilton hair transplant were quashed. He even said that he consulted a specialist about the condition of his hair. The 5-time World Champion even imparted some advice to his followers about proper hair care.

He said, “Being educated about it was really something that I’d been missing my whole life. So parents, be sure to help your kids know how to take care of their hair.”

“A lot of the products out there are actually terrible so do some research as to which ones are best.”

His caption also said, “I’ve been growing my hair for a minute now. I used to wash my hair with bath soap and genuinely anything I had at the time. Would wash it 3 times a day, morning, after training and at night. so it was always dry. If in hotels, would use their bad products but never shampooed and conditioned.”

As a parting though, he credited the specialist for giving him the ‘right advice’ and also the ‘good products’. He maintained that it was a priority to ensure that his hair is healthy. So, he was overjoyed to have ‘long crazy hair’. He claimed that it felt so good that he didn’t even have the heart to cut it.

Lewis Hamilton has often experimented with his hair, like different hairstyles, dyeing it and other such enhancements to his image. For example, back in 2015, he turned up at the GQ Men of the Year Awards sporting blonde hair. The star first revealed his blond locks ahead of that year’s Italian Grand Prix, which he went on to win.
