Lewis Hamilton took pole after beating Sebastian Vettel in second by a mere 0.051s and his team mate in third. It was a close battle between the three but Hamilton was able to edge out the two considering both of them made mistakes in their final lap.  Kimi Raikkonen finished 4th ahead of the two Red Bulls.

Alonso’s results come as a bit of a sigh of relief for Honda after the Spaniard has been seen being very vocally critic about the Honda team. Rumors pointed to McLaren’s owner Mansour Ojjeh having a conversation with Toto Wolff regarding Mercedes engines at the back of their car. It is too early to speculate about it though.
