Xavi received a text from Lionel Messi

Arguably the greatest player in the world, Messi left Barcelona for PSG this season amidst the club’s financial problems. Although Messi never wanted to leave, the club could not renew the Argentinian’s contract, forcing him to leave.

“Messi sent me a message offering me good luck. He is the best player in the history of the club but he is not here anymore. We have the players that we have and we will work with them,” said Xavi.

Those were encouraging words from Messi, but Xavi wanted to remain focused on the job and spoke about the plans for the club. Accordingly, he revealed how he waited for the perfect moment to come back to Barcelona.
